Worship Team Hero.. a Facebook Group

April 26, 2008

Just got invited to this facebook group of an awesome new game, check out the game rules.

Synopsis:
This group is intended to promote the development of the new video game Worship Team Hero.

You play a worship leader of a big time Church in downtown Calgary. As with all worship teams, you must recruit a band (or two) composed entirely of Churched individuals who think they are skilled in their instrument, when really, they are mediocre at best.

You must develop a repetoire of worship songs. You will train your transposition and arranging skills as you must make sure that every song has no more than four chords (fewer is better). Also, every song must be in either E or G, because any other key is much too hard for guitarists.

The game takes you through an exciting journey of worship leading as you develop and promote your ministry.

Feel free to engage and allow your instrumentalists to experiment with solos, but take caution, because any excessive soloing will cause an uprise amongst the old ladies in your congregation.

Follow through to read the rules.

Who Said Nothing Good Came From the 80’s?

April 1, 2008

Just for a minute let’s do the bump!

Tonights Conversations

April 1, 2008

Jennifer and I were driving home today from Belleville after getting new tires for our car and “Sexy Back” came on the radio, which got us talking about strange music from our times.

Jen posed the question of “what songs do you think our kids will make fun of”… you know, how you make fun of some of the stuff that your parents listened to… well what stuff will our kids make fun of??  My first immediate response was “The Thong Song” but that is just one… there are lots… “Hoes in Different Area Codes” popped into my head to… The Macarena… Blue (by Effile 65) and list goes on and on.

We also started talking about some of the fads…. jeans ripped to shreds with flannel boxers under them… fanny packs…. those pull over jackets that you could fold into a pouch and wear around your waste (like a fanny pack) Pogs….Tomogatchi (they are coming back)…  bleached hair…Zubaz pants…everyone loved overalls…goosebump books (and the TV show a little later)… power rangers (the orignal)

So my quest for you this week is to post the songs you think our kids will make fun of and crazy fads that you remember from the 90’s (mainly the early and mid)  … remember the sunglasses.. huge black frames with fluorescent arms.. the fluorescent cameras you use to be able to get at
McDonalds.

Lets here your memories!!

A Guide to the Nerd

February 15, 2008

WOW is all I can say about this article. Brandon showed it to me today, and it really hit’s the nail on the head, it was like I was reading a story about myself.

If you are the wife(husband)/girlfriend(boyfriend)/love interest, of a nerd PLEASE READ THIS. It will help you understand everything about your nerd. I’m not kidding, this is “sort of” a good explanation, it is BANG on.

I did not write this, so I cannot take credit for it, even though I’d love to, it came from http://www.randsinrepose.com

The Nerd Handbook

A nerd needs a project because a nerd builds stuff. All the time. Those lulls in the conversation over dinner? That’s the nerd working on his project in his head.
